Board of Directors
David Allen
David Allan is the President & CEO of Rhino Print Solutions Inc., an award winning printing company based in Richmond, British Columbia. Rhino Print Solutions is a privately held company providing commercial printing solutions to the marketing and advertising related products sector in B.C., Alberta, Washington, Oregon and California. Mr. Allan brings over 20 years of general management and sales & marketing experience to Rhino.
Prior to establishing Rhino Print Solutions, Mr. Allan was Regional Vice-President for Quebecor World, based in Vancouver. As that company's senior western executive, he was responsible for building strong management teams and driving exceptional business development on a North American platform.
Derek Hogarth
Mr. Hogarth brings over forty years of manufacturing management experience to Vectis. Mr. Hogarth has been president of a number of high tech corporations and was Vice President of Manufacturing for Gerber Legendary Blades. He is also a member of the Advisory Council for the Working Oppurtunity Fund.
Mr. Hogarth has a MBA from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Business and Industrial Technology from Oregon State University.
Doug Manness
Doug Manness founded Vectis with the vision to revolutionize plate processor technology. Prior to founding Vectis, Doug was the product manager for processor equipment at Creo Inc, and a member of the core team launching their media business. Doug joined Creo in 1995 to design image compression electronics, and held several technical and management roles including project manager working with Kodak on proofing media, and project manager for 4-page Computer-to-Plate systems. Prior to working at Creo, Doug was a project manager of the Prosine Inverter/Charger at Xantrex (formerly Statpower). Doug holds a B.Eng. in electrical engineering from the University of Victoria, and several patents both from his work at Statpower and Creo.
Advisory Board
David Balfour
David is a management executive with broad experience from leading small organizations to key positions in large multinationals. With a strong accounting background and a talent for sales and marketing he knows how to deliver value to customers and profit to the bottom line.
David's credentials include Chartered Accountant, Chartered Management Accountant, Associate of the Institute of Management, and graduate of the Executive Program in Business Administration at Columbia University. He has held senior executive/director positions in both South Africa and Europe at major multinationals including Dunlop, Toyota, BMW, and the McCarthy Group. In Vancouver he was the CEO of NewTec a local high-tech company developing gas detection systems, before returning to the automotive industry managing Otto Mobiles, one of the largest Canadian RV dealers.
Gary Yurkovich
Mr. Yurkovich has an outstanding track record managing and growing high technology companies. He is currently President of Strategems Management Inc., a management consulting firm through which he has founded or served as a senior executive at a number of high technology companies both public and private. Mr. Yurkovich also sits on a number of Boards of technology companies as either a Director or Advisor.
Previously, Gary was VP, Sales, Service and Marketing for Creo Products, where, in just three years he grew sales from $6M/year to over $125M/year while expanding his team from 15 to 250. Prior to working with Creo, Gary held a variety of management positions in a number of geographies with Digital Equipment Corporation. At Digital, Gary was recognized for top worldwide performance six times, a record matched by only one other employee in their history.
Gary has a diploma in Electrical Engineering from BCIT and a B.Sc. in biochemistry and genetics from UBC.
Gerard Koldyk
Mr. Koldyk is a successful serial entrepreneur who has assisted and led the development of several industrial technology companies. His most recent venture was as co-founder, co-inventor, and CEO of RailPower Technologies Corp., a Vancouver-based alternative energy company. Part of Mr. Koldyk's attraction to Vectis was that RailPower's mantra, Better Economics, Better Environment could be applied to Vectis as well.
Previously Mr. Koldyk's companies included environmentally friendly chemical building products, recycling hazardous wastes, and essential oil treatment of pollutants. Mr. Koldyk has invested cash and provides research and development space in addition to sharing his experience.
